I don't know about you ladies, but boy do I need a crash helmet! My
thoughts regularly hit rock bottom when left to themselves. I praise
the Lord that He has given us protection to wear in the battle for our
minds as we will see today in our continued study of the armor of God....
Ephesians 6:17, "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the Word of God."
I know I don't have to tell any of you that have been saved for any length
of time that Satan is after our minds and attacks them regularly and relentlessly!
This verse tells us to "take" the helmet of salvation. In other words,
accept it! It has been provided for us to wear in spiritual battle because
almost instantly after salvation Satan bombards us with doubts and questions
about whether or not God really did save us when we called upon Him in
prayer. He whispers to our minds just as he did to Eve's in Genesis 3:1,
"Yea, hath God said....". The devil is continuously determined to get
us to doubt the Lord and His Word. We need to be as determined not to
let Him do so, amen?
James 4:7, " Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and
he will flee from you."
As believers, we need to be fitted for our helmets immediately upon entering
the family of God, for that is also our first day in the army of God as
well! The helmet refers to the mind controlled by God... Is that the
description of your mind today, dear lady? I'll admit that all too often
my mind is not controlled by God as it should be. Before salvation, you
and I developed some wrong thought patterns that eventually became bad
habits of thinking. Those habits are carried over into our Christian
life and need to be broken. They can be broken only by the Word of God
as it renews our minds and teaches us how to put on the mind of Christ
instead. Ladies, it is our solemn responsibility to see to it that our
minds are renewed! Fit your mind with truth - it's your personal crash
helmet!
Ephesians 4:22-24, "That ye put off concerning the former conversation
the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be
renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which
after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."
Older Christians who have experienced Satan's darts ought to be sure that they
take new converts and see to it that they are fitted with the truths found
in God's Word, so they are not led astray with false teachings, those
fiery darts sent to attack their minds by the enemy. When God controls
the mind, Satan cannot lead the believer astray... Is there anybody you know
who needs to be fitted with the helmet of salvation? Be faithful and
go to their aid, help equip them with confidence in the Word of God so
they can go forth with courage and boldness in this battle. They are
soldiers now and we need to help each other fight the good fight of faith,
amen? We need all the protection we can get! We need all the protection
God has provided....
Romans 12:2, "And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
There is a commercial on television that has been around for sometime which
states that "the mind is a terrible thing to waste." Well ladies, God
thinks so too! He has given us our minds to use to bring glory and honor
to His name, are you wasting it away with wrong thinking?? I ask you
to take that step with me today toward eliminating those improper thought
habits that can only conform us to the pattern of this world. Instead
let's allow the Word of God to transform us to the image and likeness
of Jesus Christ!
Philip. 2:5, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"
How about it, ladies? Will you join me? Scripture says we will be better
able to prove the will of God in our lives, better able to discern and
obey it! Can you obey God with a reprobate mind?? The Bible says we
can't....
Romans 8:7, "Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is
not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be."
A renewed mind is an obedient mind, amen? It is a mind fit for spiritual
warfare and victory protected by the armor of God, the helmet of salvation!
Are you wearing yours today?? If not, I hope you'll "change your mind"!!
God Bless,
Pam
