Pamela Iannello went home to be with her Lord on June 18, 2008 after a two year long battle with cancer. As her surviving husband of 25 years, I knew her initial ambition in starting “Rise & Shine for Jesus” in 1996 was to help women think right about their Lord, their ministry as wives and mothers, and as sisters in their local church. Pam endeavored to bring devotionals that would continually challenge her readers to press towards higher ground. She had a real distaste for the “cotton candy” Christianity of today, where it was sweet to the mouth momentarily but within seconds it was gone and left you with absolutely no nutritional value. As any Bible
believer knows, ministries do not belong to individuals, but rather to the local
church through which they are conducted. Miss Pam always taught about the
authority of the local church and its pastor. This is why Miss Pam never failed
to include along with each Rise & Shine, that it was “A Ministry of New Beginnings
Baptist Church”. Miss Pam labored for 12 years to develop Rise &
Shine as a ministry of New Beginnings Baptist Church. Her writings bear this out
time and time again. We hope that you will
find her devotionals a blessing to your soul, like a cool drink of water in a
very dry land. She labored for hours on end to write each and every one of them.
Pam would often times use the expression “Dear Ladies”. I know her and her
Lord pray you “Dear Ladies” would take the time to read these devotionals of
substance rather than the light bread being offered in abundance today. I thank
God for her influence in my life, for it was her testimony that brought me to
the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ on February 12, 1984. Her teachings are still
alive and well in the lives of her surviving children and thousands of women she
has touched. To God be the glory, great things He has done! |
