As women, we are repeatedly confronted with opportunities that we are
uncertain are wise to accept. God's people can become ensnared in a variety
of seemingly positive ways if we are not careful to discern true duty!
Below are some questions to consider that should help clarify any confusion
and identify an appropriate response to any task you would desire to commit
to, whether in the church or in the world.
1. Does my husband approve?
2. Have the two of you prayed for God's direction?
3. If I say yes to this, what other things will I have to say no to because
of it?
4. Is it short term or long term?
5. Do I have a choice?
6. Have I waited at least 24 hours before answering?
7. Does it violate principles of scripture in any way?
8. Will it enhance or detract from my marriage/home?
9. Is it an emergency or an option?
10. Will it take away my time with God?
11. Will it really be a benefit to someone? To myself?
12. Is it already being done?
13. Has God provided the time?
14. Has God provided the strength?
15. What is my motive in saying yes?
