It may be hard for you to imagine, but there are still people today
who do not believe the Bible. They simply do not believe what it says,
they do not believe it's contents are true. Therefore a great deal of
the world has made lies their refuge and hid themselves under falsehoods!
What do you believe about the Word of God? How do you know it's true?
What assurance did Jesus give His disciples that what He said was true?
Turn with me to John chapter 14 and let's read verse 2 where something
Jesus said about truth really ministered to me....
"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have
told you. I go to prepare a place for you."
So often we read this verse and the verses surrounding this portion of
scripture and we find comfort in knowing that heaven is a real place and
that Jesus Christ is busy preparing mansions for those of us who are saved.
We get excited about eternity when we read these verses, don't we? But
there is a phrase within that verse that caught my attention where Christ
said, "if it were not so, I would have told you." When I read that, I
got excited about the TRUTH!
Psalm 33:4, "For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are
done in truth."
I find wonderful assurance that what God has told me in His Word is all
truth. He will never lead us astray.... Praise the Lord! Ladies, truth
is something sacred that ought to be very precious to us, something we
ought to be thankful we have been given! Truth is very important to Christ
and ought to be to us as well, amen? If it were not so, He would have
told us!
Hebrews 6:18 says it was impossible for God to lie. Jesus therefore would
expose a lie and not have us mislead by others. I wonder what kind of
stewards we are of the truth? How often might we rub elbows with falsehood
and engage in conversation that is not completely true, such as gossip
or slander, or lies? Do you live by the same principle that Christ lived
by, that if something is not true, you are going to point out the lie
and stand up for the truth?? If something is not so, will you also tell
others? "Oh yes Miss Pam, I always make it a practice to tell the truth!"
Really? Well, what about all those lost people around you who are believing
a lie in thinking that their good works will get them to heaven? Will
you tell them the truth, tell them that Jesus Christ is the only way to
gain eternal life?? This is what proves to God how important the truth
really is to you and I....
John 14:6, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life,
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Ladies, truth is found in the person of Jesus! As the way, Jesus is our
path to the Father. As the truth, He is the reality of all God’s promises.
As the life, He joins His divine life to ours, both now and eternally.
Thank you, God, for providing a sure way to get to you! Thank you for
showing me the truth! That precious truth frees us from the consequences
of sin, from self-deception, and from deception by Satan. Are you sharing
the truth dear lady, are you being a good steward of it? All truth matches
the teaching of Jesus Christ - the One who IS truth. If a person’s teaching
is true, it will agree with Jesus' teachings, amen? Ladies, be sure you
test everything you hear against God's Word, and you will not be led astray!
Don't be hasty to seek advice and guidance from merely human sources and
thereby neglect Christ's message of truth. Because God is truth, you can
trust His Word to guide you into all truth, amen? And you ought to use
it to guide others into that same assurance you are enjoying!
Proverbs 14:25, " A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness
speaketh lies."
Because we serve the God of truth, we as God's children have the duty
to live by truthfulness. We must put forth honest effort to find out and
then announce the truth. We must be valiant for the truth upon the earth!
As a matter of fact, this world is too dangerous for anything but the
truth, amen? Are you in fact living a life of commitment to truth, or
is there deceitfulness woven throughout your doings? What about your thoughts?
Are they governed by truth? What about your words? Are you careful to
speak the truth? Are your lips busy speaking the truth as Jesus lips were,
or are you engaging in unwise and untruthful conversations? If you tell
the truth, you have Infinite Power supporting you; but if not, you have
Infinite Power against you! Though you may not be the one doing all the
speaking, if you are listening to all sorts of garbage - even on Christian
radio or television, then you are compromising the truth! Do not entertain
falsehood of any kind, amen? Establish yourself as a child of God, a child
of truth, and commit to only hearing, thinking and speaking the truth,
amen? How can you expect to turn others away from lies if you yourself
have not done so first??
Proverbs 12:19, "The lip of truth shall be established forever..."
Zechariah 8:16, "These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every
man the truth to his neighbor..."
Malachi 2:6, "The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not
found in his lips..."
Ephesians 4:25, "Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with
his neighbor...."
Yes, as Christians, truth should characterize all of our dealings. It
characterized all of Christ's dealings and all of our heavenly Father's
dealings with us! Lies, therefore, ought to grieve the hearts of the righteous...
Remember what Jesus said - "If it were not so, I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU."
Are you exposing lies; are you exposing the devil's work? The Bible says
in John 8:44 that he is the father of lying, amen? Those who know not
God as their Father have a father that never tells them the truth! You've
been lied to before and if you're like me, you didn't like the way if
felt. Well, imagine that kind of a life everyday, ladies! That's why I
say the truth ought to be precious to us, amen? All lies therefore are
Satan's work. Do you realize that everyday lies are responsible for sending
people straight to hell?! Should we, who know the truth, allow others
to be pulled into such a wicked trap or should we boldly share the truth
with them and set them free? Ladies, we who live by truth ought not to
allow Satan's doings to continue to masquerade themselves around as truth!
That's why from time to time I will write and inform you ladies about
various Christian publications or "movements", if you will, that are deceptive.
Do yourself a favor - don't be so quick to embrace every new Christian
book, diet, prayer or otherwise that comes off the press! We as children
of truth ought to shine the light of God's truth on the devil's lies and
expose his subtle efforts to deceive mankind, amen? Have you not experienced
even areas in your own life where the devil has lied to you and enslaved
you for years? Were you not angry when you realized how long you had been
deceived, knowing that it might have sent you to hell before you learned
the truth?? If so, then fight back - truth is a worthy cause! It's God's
cause and He expects us to stand up for it - be as faithful with the truth
as Jesus was, won't you? Truth is a tremendous torch! It's also heavy,
and unfortunately, so few carry it... Commit in your heart today that
if it is not so, you will speak up!
Proverbs 14:5, " A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness
will utter lies."
Ephesians 6:14, "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth...."
Psalm 119:30, "I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid
before me."
God Bless,
Pam
