10 Reasons Why Women Reject Purchasing A Particular Dress
1. Not my "style"
2. Not flattering enough to my figure
3. Too restrictive - can't sit down in it
4. Too transparent
5. Too long / not short enough
6. Price too high
7. Flawed item - imperfect
8. Too old-fashioned / not current fad
9. Not found in a well-known department store
10. Too small (or too much of YOU??)
With every New Year comes new beginnings... Many people will make the
important and very necessary decision this year as to where they should
go to church. Some may be considering leaving the place where they have
been members; some may be looking for the first time to be part of a local
church. Since being a pastor's wife, I have observed that it is typically
the women who decide whether or not the family visits and/or joins (or
leaves!) a particular church. With that being the case, could it be ladies,
that we foolishly use these same guidelines when it comes to deciding
whether or not we "fit in" at a doctrinally sound Bible preaching church?
Beware of the criteria you use to make such a weighty decision... Have
you really been shopping for a church - or just a cover-up?? As Christians,
the church we make our home (become members of) should help conform us
into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ, not make it easy for us to
remain the same person! Look over that list again, and think twice about
each reason before you walk away from a good church....
Proverbs 23:23, "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction,
and understanding."
